We Were Building with AI Before It Was a Buzzword

But back in 2019, before the hype cycle, before Generative AI dominated headlines, our team at AmplifyIQ was already building with it.


And not because it was trendy.


We did it because it was the right way to solve a problem no one else was addressing.



Why We Started Early

Traditional mobile insurance pricing has long relied on simple variables: device model, age, and retail value. Those factors explain only part of the risk. What’s missing is how the device is actually used and handled.


We believed that the true signal of risk lives in behavioral data — the subtle patterns of drops, movement, charging, and environmental exposure that shape device health and claims outcomes.


So in 2019, we began applying AI and machine learning to capture and interpret those signals directly from smartphones. Long before “Generative AI” became a household term, we were using advanced AI techniques to model behavioral patterns and predict risk.

Even still today, nobody else in the industry is thinking about it. There was no ready-made dataset to lean on. We had to create one ourselves.



Building a Dataset That Didn’t Exist

Over the past several years, we’ve collected and curated proprietary data at scale —device behaviors, risk scores, and real-world claims outcomes.

This dataset is unique. It doesn’t exist anywhere else in the world. And it’s the missing pillar in solving risk: connecting behavior to claims in a quantifiable way.


By training our models on this data, we built an engine capable of:

  • Smarter pricing: Adjusting premiums in real time to reflect actual risk.

  • Fairer outcomes: Rewarding low-risk users instead of penalizing them with one-size-fits-all pricing.

  • Better protection: Reducing claims, increasing loyalty, and creating sustainable protection programs.


Fast Forward to Today

Now, in 2025, AI is everywhere. Startups and incumbents alike are racing to show off AI pilots, prototypes, and experiments.


The difference is this:

  • Many are still experimenting.

  • Our technology is already proven, patented, and deployed.

We didn’t wait for AI to be fashionable. We committed early, built the moats, and validated our approach with real-world results.
