Enterprise insurers competing in device protection and adjacent short-tail products face a familiar constraint.

Actuaries are asked to price increasingly competitive programs using largely similar historical data, comparable assumptions, and limited visibility into real-world customer behavior. As a result, differentiation becomes difficult — and competition compresses toward price rather than structure, fairness, or long-term performance.

Over the past several years, we’ve been working to change that dynamic.

Today, we’ve released a behavioral dataset and actuarial-grade technology package designed to sit directly in front of insurer actuarial and underwriting teams — enabling more precise pricing, clearer differentiation, and stronger bid positioning.

Why This Matters for Enterprise Insurers

In enterprise programs — particularly telecom, OEM, and large retail — pricing decisions are no longer judged solely on loss ratio assumptions.

They are judged on:

  • fairness and explainability

  • confidence in long-term performance

  • alignment with partner brand values

  • and the ability to defend structure under scrutiny

Behavioral risk intelligence materially improves an insurer’s ability to do all four.

By incorporating behavior-based segmentation into pricing and program design, insurers can:

  • offer more competitive pricing where risk supports it

  • better manage exposure where it doesn’t

  • explain why pricing differs across cohorts

  • and design programs that perform beyond the first policy term

This shifts competition from price compression to structural advantage.

Increasingly Relevant in Bid and RFP Environments

One of the most important shifts we’ve observed is where this capability is being used.

It’s no longer limited to internal actuarial analysis. Increasingly, insurers are incorporating behavioral risk intelligence into:

  • enterprise bid processes

  • telecom and retail RFPs

  • underwriting discussions

  • and executive-level positioning

When multiple proposals appear similar on the surface, the ability to explain fairness, retention dynamics, and portfolio behavior becomes a meaningful differentiator.

This dataset and technology package was built with that reality in mind.

Market-Agnostic by Design

From the beginning, the platform was designed to be applied globally.

The data structures, segmentation logic, and actuarial interfaces are independent of:

  • geography

  • regulatory regime

  • distribution model

  • or insurer operating structure

Each insurer can evaluate and apply the intelligence using its own assumptions, capital strategy, and risk appetite — making it suitable for global enterprise programs rather than one-off pilots.

From Evaluation to Execution

A key milestone in this work has been seeing insurers move beyond exploratory review and into real pricing and product planning discussions using the package.

That transition — from evaluation to execution — has reinforced that this capability is not experimental. It is actionable, scalable, and aligned with how enterprise insurers actually operate.

Looking Ahead

As insurance markets continue to mature, competitive advantage will increasingly be defined by how well risk is understood and explained, not just how efficiently it is priced.

By delivering behavioral intelligence in a form that actuarial and underwriting teams can directly engage with, we believe this platform introduces a new way for insurers to compete — more precisely, more fairly, and more confidently.

This release represents an important step forward.

And it opens the door to a broader evolution in how protection programs are designed, priced, and won.

If you’re running a mobile insurance program anywhere in the world, we can help you take the next step into risk-based pricing today.
