Inventing Behavioral Intelligence for Mobile Insurance

We’ve spent years in R&D, successfully filing for and being granted two U.S. patents covering the core of our risk-based pricing technology.
We are the inventors of patented behavioural intelligence for mobile insurance.
That distinction matters to us.
Today, ideas around personalized protection, behavioural data and intelligent device lifecycle management are beginning to attract greater attention. But for us, this isn’t a new direction.
We started building it years ago.
It began with a simple premise:
One-price-fits-all mobile insurance isn’t fair.
Two people can own the same phone, pay the same premium and have the same deductible — even though the way they use and care for their devices may be completely different.
We believed that if we could determine the individual risk of a device user, we could change that.
At the time, it was just a hypothesis.
We didn’t know whether it would work.
From Invention to Evidence
What followed were years of R&D.
One discovery led to another. We developed new techniques, learned what information mattered and what didn’t, and discovered how behavioural intelligence could be translated into meaningful risk differentiation.
There were plenty of wrong turns.
That’s part of invention.
Eventually, the question changed from:
Can we do this?
to:
Is what we’ve created strong enough for the insurance industry to actually take risk against?
That was a much higher bar.
We spent years refining our approach, working with data and claims experience, and developing the methodology required to produce something that could stand up to actuarial scrutiny.
And even then, we weren’t completely sure.
The Moment of Truth
Eventually, we reached the point where someone other than us needed to make that determination.
We extensively documented our technology and presented it to one of the industry’s largest companies for review, with the objective of determining whether a commercial product could be built around it.
There were some big questions.
Would they see what we saw?
Would they believe the evidence?
Would they be prepared to take risk?
Would they want to build a product around it?
The response was overwhelmingly positive.
That was an important moment for us.
It validated something much bigger than the technology itself.
What began as an invention could become a commercial product and at scale.
Since then, we’ve received additional validation from other leading companies in the industry, including partners prepared to embrace what we’ve built and take risk around it.
The Invention Keeps Growing
Perhaps the most interesting part is that our original invention has led us much further than we initially expected.
We started by asking whether behavioural intelligence could make mobile protection smarter and fairer.
But understanding the relationship between people and their devices opens opportunities far beyond insurance.
Protection. Engagement. Device health. Retention. Trade-in. Upgrades.
They are all parts of the same device lifecycle.
And we’re continuing to discover what behavioural intelligence can do across it.
There is a great deal about our technology, techniques and discoveries that we don’t discuss publicly.
That’s intentional.
Patents tell part of the story. The real depth comes from the years of learning behind them.
For the right partners, we can show it.
If you’re looking to raise your game in mobile protection, trade-in or the broader device lifecycle, we should talk.
